Benefits of the Scholarship
This scholarship will provide the following to its recipients:
- 992 euros a monthly
- Health, accident and personal liability insurance
- Travel allowance
- Annually study allowance of € 460
- Monthly rent subsidy
- Monthly allowance for accompanying members of family
- Green Mobility Top Up (Support for climate-friendly travel) or reimbursement of carbon offset payments for air travel.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Have completed your first degree (e.g. Bachelor’s or Diplom) at the latest by the time the funding period begins.
- You should have completed your degree with very good / excellent grades (above average academic performance)
- You must not have been residing in Germany for more than 15 months by the application deadline.
- You must provide proof of proficiency in the language in which your chosen master’s programme is taught
- You must ensure that your chosen study programme/university is recognized (state or state-recognized university in Germany).

Selection Criteria
The DAAD selection process is carried out by an independent committee of experts who evaluate applications based on three main areas:
- Academic qualifications (such as previous achievements, certificates, study history, language proficiency, and relevant work experience)
- The quality and feasibility of the proposed study project (including preparation, choice of programme and university, and how it fits into the applicant’s career path)
- The applicant’s potential (motivation, future prospects, language skills, and extracurricular or social commitment). Consideration is also given to equal opportunities, which applicants may highlight in their application.
