Murdoch University began operations as Western Australia’s second university on July 25, 1973, and welcomed its first undergraduate students in 1975. Named after Sir Walter Murdoch (1874–1970), widely regarded as one of Australia’s finest essayists, writers and educators, the university was established on the lands of the Whadjuk and Binjareb Noongar people, continuing a tradition of learning that has existed for thousands of years. This scholarship will provide the following to its recipients:
- A total of $12,000 awarded for up to 4 years of study
- $3,000 stipend per year ($1,500 paid in week 7 or 8 for both semesters) to support educational expenses

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a Humanitarian Visa
- Be graduating from Year 12 in the year prior to commencing Bachelor Engineering Honours
- Be from an underrepresented, equity, or marginalized group
- Meet the entry requirements for the Bachelor Engineering Honours program
- Provide a supporting personal statement
- Provide a reference from school or community leader
