The NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme (UGSS) 2025 represents an extraordinary opportunity for talented Nigerian students to pursue quality undergraduate education at federal and state-owned universities across Nigeria. In keeping with its commitment to fostering education and developing human capital, Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited, Africa’s second-largest producer and exporter of liquefied natural gas, invites applications from eligible first-year undergraduates for the 2025/2026 academic year.
This transformative scholarship program is offered through NLNG, a joint venture incorporated in 1989 and owned by four shareholders including the Federal Government of Nigeria represented by NNPC (49%), Shell Gas B.V. (25.6%), TotalEnergies Gaz & Electricity Holdings (15%), and Eni International N.A.N. ar. I (10.4%). The initiative, which began as an education intervention for host communities and expanded nationwide in 2003, has invested a total of N768.9 million (approximately $2.5 million) and supported over 3,416 students from various public universities across Nigeria. The scholarship was reviewed from 150 beneficiaries per year to 300 beneficiaries starting from the 2018/2019 academic session.
