This transformative scholarship program includes both automatic Trent International Renewable Entrance Scholarships awarded based solely on academic merit requiring no application, as well as prestigious scholarships requiring applications that recognize outstanding academic achievement combined with community service, leadership potential, and financial need.
Benefits of the Scholarship
This scholarship provides comprehensive support including:
- Tier 1 (95%-100% average): CAD $5,500 annually, up to CAD $22,000 over 4 years
- Tier 2 (90%-94% average): CAD $4,500 annually, up to CAD $18,000 over 4 years
- Tier 3 (85%-89% average): CAD $3,500 annually, up to CAD $14,000 over 4 years
- Tier 4 (80%-84% average): CAD $2,500 annually, up to CAD $10,000 over 4 years
- Renewable Prestigious Scholarships and Awards
- Ability to upgrade scholarship tier based on improved academic performance at Trent
- Renewable annually throughout undergraduate degree with continued eligibility

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be an international student paying international fees
- Be studying in Canada on a study permit
- Have applied to an undergraduate degree program at Trent University
- Meet Trent University’s Admission requirements including general and degree-specific requirements
- Meet English Language Proficiency Requirements (IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent)
- Have a final high school average of 80% or more (Canadian equivalent)
- Fulfill the conditions of your conditional offer letter and register for courses
- For Entrance Scholarship renewal: Complete at least 5 credits in the preceding academic year or have Student Accessibility Services (SAS)-approved reduced courseload accommodation
- Register for courses as a full-time student for the upcoming academic year
- Maintain required term average to retain or upgrade scholarship tier
- For Prestigious Scholarships: Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, community service, leadership potential, and some financial need

Selection Criteria
Selection is automatic and based entirely on academic merit with no application required. All international undergraduate students applying to Trent are automatically considered, and the scholarship tier and amount are determined based on the Canadian equivalent of the high school average used for admission consideration. Students receive their entrance scholarship amount directly in their myTrent account statement closer to the beginning of their first academic term, and the scholarship is renewable annually based on maintaining required academic standards at Trent with the opportunity to upgrade to higher tiers if term averages improve or downgrade if averages drop.
