This role requires strong professional judgement, effective communication, and the ability to manage complex caseloads within a defined geographical locality. The Social Worker will contribute to early intervention, crisis response, and long-term support planning, while maintaining accurate records and meeting performance and quality standards. By working collaboratively with health, education, housing, and voluntary sector partners, the post holder supports integrated service delivery and helps build resilient individuals, families, and communities across the North Locality.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, the role involves assessment of need and risk, care planning, case management, and statutory responsibilities in line with relevant legislation, policies, and professional standards. The post holder will engage directly with service users, carers, and partner agencies to promote wellbeing, independence, and positive outcomes while ensuring that safeguarding duties are effectively discharged.

Job Duties
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of children, adults, and families to identify needs, risks, and strengths in line with statutory frameworks and local policies.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review care and support plans that promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for service users.
- Manage a varied caseload, including complex and high-risk cases, ensuring timely interventions and effective case progression.
- Carry out safeguarding investigations, risk assessments, and statutory visits, taking appropriate action where abuse, neglect, or vulnerability is identified.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners such as health services, education providers, housing teams, and voluntary organizations to coordinate support.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and reports in accordance with professional standards, legal requirements, and organizational procedures.
- Provide advice, guidance, and practical support to service users, carers, and families, empowering them to make informed decisions.
- Comply with relevant legislation, safeguarding policies, and ethical standards, including confidentiality and data protection requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Be a post qualified Social Worker with experience of working within a statutory social work setting.
- Be a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Best Interest Assessor or committed to undertaking this training.
- Be confident in their knowledge and experience of safeguarding vulnerable adults and the assessment of risk.
- Have experience of working in statutory Adult Social Care services.
- Have an understanding of the importance of information and advice in supporting people to maintain their own independence and wellbeing without recourse to long term publicly funded services.
