Karsh to honor the exceptional contributions international scholars make to Duke University. Selection Criteria
The Karsh International Scholarship selection process evaluates candidates holistically, balancing academic excellence with demonstrated financial need and potential for contribution to Duke’s diverse community. Strong academic preparation is fundamental—successful candidates typically demonstrate outstanding achievement in rigorous coursework, exceptional standardized test scores (if submitted), and intellectual curiosity across disciplines. Beyond academics, the selection committee seeks students who embody civic engagement, leadership potential, and commitment to scholarship in service of society, as the program specifically aims to support scholars who will promote interdisciplinary inquiry and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
