Selection Criteria
The Skoltech admissions and scholarship selection process is competitive, merit-based, and conducted in multiple waves. All applicants who submit a complete application by the first wave deadline — March 16 for MSc programmes and April 27 for PhD programmes — are reviewed by an interdisciplinary admissions committee comprising faculty members and senior academic staff. The initial screening assesses the applicant’s academic record, the relevance and strength of their undergraduate or postgraduate degree, and their motivation letter, which should clearly articulate the specific Skoltech programme they are applying to, their research interests, and their professional goals within science, technology, or entrepreneurship.
