The TGGS-DAAD Full Scholarship is a prestigious, fully funded Master’s scholarship offered by RWTH Aachen University in partnership with the Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering (TGGS) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Federal Foreign Office. The scholarship is designed to support outstanding international students from Southeast Asia who wish to pursue a two-year research-based Master’s degree in engineering, with the unique feature of spending the first year of study at TGGS in Bangkok and the second year as a research stay at RWTH Aachen University in Germany, one of Europe’s most highly ranked and internationally recognised technical universities. The scholarship covers full tuition fees (partly funded by KMUTNB) and a monthly living allowance for the duration of the programme.

TGGS was established as a joint project between DAAD, RWTH Aachen, and KMUTNB and is widely recognised as one of Southeast Asia’s leading internationally oriented engineering graduate schools, offering English-medium Master’s and Doctoral programmes across multiple engineering disciplines. The school combines rigorous German-standard engineering education with applied research, industry collaboration, and an international academic environment in the heart of Bangkok. The partnership with RWTH Aachen University, consistently ranked among the world’s top engineering universities, gives TGGS graduates a distinctive dual-institution academic profile and access to world-class research infrastructure in both Thailand and Germany. Only 5 specific Master’s programmes are eligible for the DAAD scholarship, and applicants may apply for only one field of study.
