The KAIST Scholarship is a prestigious fully funded award automatically offered to all admitted international undergraduate students at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), covering full tuition fees for 8 semesters, a monthly living allowance of 350,000 KRW, and medical health insurance for the entire duration of the undergraduate programme. There is no separate scholarship application students simply select the KAIST Scholarship option on the Statement of Financial Resources section of the online admission application form, and upon being selected for admission, they are automatically entitled to the award. To retain the scholarship beyond the freshman year, students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 out of 4.3 throughout their studies at KAIST.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be applying as an international student through the KAIST International Student Undergraduate Admission
- Must select the “KAIST Scholarship” option on the Statement of Financial Resources section of the online admission application; no separate scholarship application is required
- Must be successfully admitted to KAIST as an undergraduate student to be entitled to the scholarship
- Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 out of 4.3 at KAIST from the second year onwards to continue receiving the scholarship
- Must demonstrate sufficient proficiency in written and spoken English, as English is the official language of communication at KAIST
- There is no separate application deadline for the scholarship — it follows the same timeline as the admission application

Selection Criteria
The KAIST Scholarship is not subject to a separate competitive selection process all applications for the scholarship are reviewed concurrently and equally as part of the general undergraduate admission process, and any student who is selected for admission to KAIST as an international undergraduate student is automatically entitled to receive the full scholarship for the duration of their studies; continued eligibility beyond the freshman year is conditional on the student maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7 out of 4.3 at KAIST, reflecting the institution’s commitment to academic standards and its expectation that scholarship recipients remain in good academic standing throughout their programme.
