The aim is to develop or implement international degree programs with joint curricula from the German and foreign universities for groups of highly qualified German and foreign students who study alternately at the German and foreign partner universities, and both obtain national degrees (joint degree or double degree). The degree programs are intended to strengthen the exchange between teachers and students and make a lasting contribution to the development, expansion and consolidation of international structures at German universities.

The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) is Germany’s national agency for international academic cooperation and exchange. Founded in 1925, it has funded millions of scholars and projects worldwide. The Integrated International Degree Programmes initiative supports German universities in building or expanding double/joint degree programs in partnership with foreign institutions.

Through this funding, DAAD aims to help institutions offer structured pathways for students to spend parts of their studies abroad while earning qualifications recognized in both countries. These programs strengthen cultural understanding, academic excellence, and graduates’ competitiveness in the global job market.
