Selection Criteria

BSE’s admissions process is highly selective and centers on identifying candidates with outstanding academic records, a strong quantitative foundation, and genuine motivation to excel in a rigorous, intensive academic environment. The admissions committee evaluates each application holistically, looking at GPA, the quality and relevance of the Statement of Purpose, the strength of reference letters, and evidence of mathematical and analytical capability whether through coursework, research experience, or practical application. A GRE General Test score, while optional for most programs, is strongly encouraged and can significantly strengthen an application, particularly for candidates whose undergraduate backgrounds are less quantitatively focused.
