The Monash Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship (formerly the Monash Equity Scholarship) is awarded on equity grounds to domestic graduate research students undertaking a research degree at a Monash campus in Australia. Up to 20 scholarships are offered each year, with a total scholarship value of $41,100 per annum at the 2027 rate. The scholarship is designed to support students whose educational or career pathways may have been affected by circumstances beyond their control. Additional consideration is given to applicants who have experienced career disruption because of family or carer responsibilities, as well as educational disadvantage during previous studies. This may include circumstances such as being a recent refugee, living in a regional or remote area, having a disability or long-term medical condition, or experiencing significant personal or financial difficulties.
Monash University is a leading Australian university with campuses across Australia and international locations in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Prato, Italy. Through initiatives such as the Monash Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship, the university aims to broaden access to higher education and research opportunities by helping reduce financial and personal barriers faced by students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The scholarship can provide valuable financial support during graduate research, allowing successful recipients to focus more fully on their research and academic development while pursuing their higher degree at Monash.
