Benefits of the Scholarship
The International Freshman Automatic Merit Scholarships are based on a combination of GPA and standardized test.
- The scholarship is valued at $6,000–$28,000 per year. This can be used by the student to cover:
- Travel expenses
- Books and materials
- Meal
- Health care
- Additionally, the Presidential Elite level (GPA 4.0+, ACT 36 or SAT 1600) includes:
- Full tuition for up to four years (undergraduate + graduate or law)
- First-year on-campus housing (at regular rate)
- $1,500 per year supplemental scholarship for four years
- $2,000 one-time allowance for research or international study after the first year

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the International Freshman Automatic Scholarships applicant must:
- Must be a first-time freshman and apply as an international student
- High School Academic Performance
- A minimum GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale
- For the Presidential level, GPA of 3.50+ is required
- Presidential Elite level requires even stronger performance (GPA 4.0+)
- Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency as per UA’s international admissions standards

Selection Criteria
All students who have submitted an application and all supporting documents by the listed deadline are evaluated holistically, based upon academic and non-academic information provided on their admission application. Academic components considered include high school GPA and academic honors. Non-academic items include leadership experience, volunteer experience, extracurricular activities, employment and non-academic honor.
