Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the 2025/2026 International Undergraduate Scholarships at the UM–Dearborn, applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be an international student admitted to the University of Michigan–Dearborn for undergraduate study.
  • Must have a strong academic record at the time of admission (minimum GPA requirement begins at 3.0 on a 4.0 scale).
  • Scholarship amounts are based on GPA at admission:
  • $12,500 per year – GPA of 4.0 (or equivalent).
  • $10,000 per year – GPA of 3.95 – 3.99.
  • $7,500 per year – GPA of 3.90 – 3.94.
  • $5,000 per year – GPA of 3.50 – 3.89.
  • $3,000 per year – GPA of 3.0 – 3.49.
  • Must enroll full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours per semester).
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 each year to renew the scholarship.
  • Must successfully complete at least 24 credit hours per academic year.
  • Freshmen are eligible to renew the scholarship for up to eight semesters (four years), while transfer students can renew for up to six semesters (three years).
