Selection Criteria

The Spanish Ministry of Education scholarship selection evaluates candidates based on comprehensive general, economic, and academic requirements. Students must meet nationality or residency requirements, demonstrate financial need by not exceeding established income and patrimony thresholds, and show adequate academic performance. Economic evaluation considers 2024 family income across three thresholds, with lower-income families receiving more substantial support. Academic assessment varies by study year, requiring minimum entrance grades for first-year students and progressively higher pass rates for continuing students (65% for second and third years, 80% for fourth year, 90% for fifth year and beyond). Master’s students need minimum 5-point averages and must pass 100% of credits in their second year. The variable scholarship component is calculated using a mathematical formula that weights both academic merit and family income per capita, ensuring proportional support. Additional amounts are awarded for residence changes and academic excellence (grades of 8 or higher).
