The Bangor University Alumni Scholarship 2026 (also known as the Alumni Discount) is a special tuition fee discount program designed exclusively for Bangor University alumni and their immediate family members who are international students. This scholarship recognizes the continued connection between Bangor University and its global alumni community by offering financial support to former students returning for further studies and extending this benefit to their families. The program demonstrates Bangor’s commitment to maintaining lifelong relationships with its graduates and supporting intergenerational access to quality education at this historic Welsh institution established in 1884.
Located between the Snowdonia National Park and the Menai Strait, Bangor University offers a unique combination of academic excellence and natural beauty. The Alumni Scholarship provides £1,000 discount per year of study, applicable to all undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses. A distinctive feature of this scholarship is that it can be awarded in addition to any other international scholarship offered by Bangor University (excluding the Vice-Chancellor Scholarship), making it one of the few Bangor scholarships that can be combined with other awards.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be an international Bangor alumnus who has previously studied at Bangor University or be an immediate family member of a Bangor alumnus (spouse, siblings, children, grandchild)
- Be an international student paying international tuition fee levels (not UK/EU fee status).
- Be self-funding or partially funded.
- Apply for undergraduate courses OR postgraduate taught courses at Bangor University.
- Meet admission requirements for chosen program.
- Clearly mark on application form that you are eligible for Alumni Discount.

Selection Criteria
The Bangor University Alumni Scholarship selection is straightforward and based primarily on establishing eligibility.
