Selection Criteria
Applications are assessed through a holistic process that recognizes not only academic excellence—reflected in achieved or predicted high grades equivalent to an A or first-class degree—but also the applicant’s extracurricular involvement, leadership, and broader social or professional accomplishments that demonstrate personal growth and engagement beyond academics. The evaluation further considers alignment with Bangor University’s core values of ambition, inclusivity, integrity, sustainability, and transformation; the applicant’s potential to contribute meaningfully to the university community through academic, social, and cultural participation; and the quality of the scholarship application, particularly in articulating motivations for selecting Bangor and the chosen program. Relevant skills and experience in the intended field of study, along with demonstrated ambassadorial potential to represent the university positively, are also key factors, with final selection decisions made by the respective academic schools.
