Selection Criteria

The Excellence Master Fellowships selection is based purely on excellence, making this highly competitive and merit-based. Academic performance is paramount—applicants must have brilliant bachelor’s degrees and rank among the best students in their year at their home institutions, demonstrated through transcripts showing all exam grades and results. Strong letters of recommendation from two professors are crucial, attesting to the candidate’s aptitude for the program and confirming exceptional academic abilities. The motivation letter is carefully evaluated, assessing the candidate’s specific scientific interests, research aspirations, and genuine motivation for pursuing a Master of Science at Geneva rather than elsewhere. Alignment between the applicant’s scientific interests and the Faculty’s research strengths is important. Additional supporting materials such as GRE scores, TOEFL/language test results, research experience, publications, or other achievements strengthen applications.
