The 2025/26 Undergraduate Bursary Scheme at the University of Bradford is a financial assistance programme for full-time Home (and some EU) undergraduate students who meet certain eligibility criteria. To qualify, students must be new undergraduates starting in 2025/26, paying the full course fee, and from households with an assessed income under £40,000 per year. These payments are made once annually, in the last week of March, directly into the student’s bank account via the Student Loans Company.

Benefits of the Scholarship
This scholarship will provide the following to its recipients:
- First year award: £500
- Second year award: £600
- Third and subsequent years award: £700
These funds can be used to cover the following:
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation
- Living expenses

- Local transportation

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- New students starting at the University of Bradford in 2025/2026. Students who are studying for a second degree are not eligible, unless the course is health-based and eligible for additional student finance funding.
- Home and EU students paying Home fees and studying full time.
- Family income of under £40,000 as assessed by the relevant student finance service.
- Students paying the full course fee i.e. £9,535 for a standard degree course.
- Students on a placement year or those repeating less than 80 credits and paying a partial fee will not be eligible for the bursary payment.
- Student must be fully engaging with their programme of study, i.e. attending lectures, handing in coursework and sitting exams as outlined in the Faculty Handbook.

Selection Criteria
T Successful students for the 2025/26 Undergraduate Bursary Scheme at the University of Bradford are automatically selected based on financial need, not academic performance. To qualify, they must be new full-time undergraduates paying full fees, have a household income below £40,000, complete financial assessment by 31 July 2026, and be actively engaged in their studies.
