Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field
- Demonstrate exceptional academic performance with strong grades in previous studies (typically First Class Honors or equivalent)
- Show strong research potential and genuine interest in cyber security research
- Have relevant technical skills in areas such as cryptography, network security, software security, or related domains
- Submit a compelling research proposal that aligns with the department’s research priorities in cyber security
- Provide evidence of English language proficiency
- Secure the support of a potential supervisor from the Department of Computing Science
- Meet the University of Edinburgh’s standard PhD admission requirements
- Demonstrate commitment to completing a full-time doctoral research programme
- Not be in receipt of other full scholarships or funding for the same period
