Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the AUB MasterCard Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be an African citizen
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent secondary school qualification
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance with excellent grades in secondary school
  • Show demonstrated financial need and limited financial capacity to pursue higher education without scholarship support
  • Exhibit leadership potential and commitment to making a difference in their community
  • Have a track record of community service or volunteer activities
  • Commit to attend all additional learning experiences and workshops required by the Scholars Program beyond regular coursework
  • Show evidence of civic engagement and extracurricular activities in secondary school
  • Meet AUB’s undergraduate admission requirements for chosen field of study
  • Have a clear vision for how the education will enable them to contribute to positive change in Africa
  • Apply through designated AUB partner organizations in their African country
