The Arbour Foundation Master’s Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship program designed to provide financial support to rising stars pursuing master’s degrees in Quebec, Canada. The Foundation’s mission is to contribute to Quebec’s economic growth through education by supporting exceptional students in Engineering, Computer Science, and Administration programs. This unique scholarship offers a jumpstart to professional success for students enrolled at partner universities across Quebec, enabling them to reach their full potential while contributing to the province’s academic and economic development.

Through this scholarship program, recipients gain comprehensive financial support while studying at one of eleven prestigious partner universities in Quebec: Bishop’s University, Concordia University, École de technologie supérieure, HEC Montréal, Institut national de la recherche scientifique, McGill University, Polytechnique Montréal, Université de Montréal, Université de Sherbrooke, Université du Québec à Montréal, and Université Laval. The Foundation also provides French language support, mentoring programs, and networking events to facilitate cultural integration and success in Quebec’s society and economy.

Benefits of the Scholarship

This scholarship provides comprehensive support including:

$20,000 CAD total scholarship value.
Disbursed in two equal installments ($10,000 in fall semester, $10,000 in winter semester).
Renewable once for an additional year (subject to meeting renewal criteria).
Free French language courses for students with limited or no French proficiency
Access to mentoring programs and networking events.
Support for cultural integration into Quebec society.
Individual French training tailored to student needs.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

Be enrolled full-time in a master’s program at one of the partner universities.
Have completed at least 2 full-time semesters in a Quebec university in the past 12 months prior to file transfer to the Foundation.
Have been registered full-time in the fall and winter sessions preceding the summer semester.
Be enrolled full-time in fall and winter semesters following the competition to receive the scholarship.
Have an average of 75% or higher.
Have at least two full semesters remaining in the program at the time of first payment.
Be studying in Engineering, Computer Science, or Administration domains.

Selection Criteria

The Arbour Foundation evaluates candidates using the following weighted criteria:

The selection committees evaluate candidates through application materials and selection interviews. Academic excellence is the primary consideration, followed by demonstrated financial need and active social involvement or leadership qualities. Research capabilities and the ability to apply previous learning and skills are also assessed to identify students with strong potential for professional success.

French language proficiency also taken into consideration during selection interviews.
