Selection Criteria
Applications undergo a comprehensive, holistic evaluation in which the University considers a range of academic and personal factors, including demonstrated academic excellence—typically reflected in achieved or predicted A grades for undergraduate applicants or a first-class degree (or equivalent) for postgraduate candidates—and the alignment between the applicant’s chosen program, prior qualifications, and academic interests. The strength and clarity of the personal statement, particularly in articulating educational goals, motivation for studying at Bangor, and long-term career aspirations, are key components, as are the quality of academic references, evidence of relevant skills, extracurricular engagement, and practical experience in the chosen field.
