The UCL Global Master’s Scholarship initiative seeks to facilitate and encourage international students originating from lower income backgrounds to undertake full-time Master’s degree studies at University College London (UCL). This need-based scholarship program addresses financial barriers preventing talented students from accessing world-class postgraduate education at one of the United Kingdom’s most prestigious universities.

Benefits of the Scholarship

This scholarship will provide the following support to recipients:

Financial award of £15,000 applicable to tuition and maintenance costs
Application first to tuition fees with remaining balance (if any) paid as maintenance stipend
Maintenance payments in three equal installments throughout the academic year
One-year funding for standard one-year Master’s programs
Two-year funding (50% per year) for full-time programs requiring two years to complete
Possibility of combining with other awards depending on total funding value received

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must fulfill ALL of the following criteria:

Be from any country outside the United Kingdom (international/overseas students only)
Be eligible to pay the Overseas fee rate as classified by UCL
Come from a lower income background as defined by UCL’s household income guidelines
Have submitted a complete admission application for a full-time Master’s degree at UCL for the academic year
Application must include submission of all references required for admission
Program must be on-campus – distance-learning options are NOT eligible for this fund
Must be coming to the UK to attend UCL in person for full-time study

Selection Criteria
