The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a merit-based award for outstanding non-EU/EEA students applying to a Master’s (MSc) programme at the University of Twente. Valued between €3,000 and €22,000 per year, the scholarship is designed to support students who rank in the top 5–10% of their graduating class. For two-year programmes, the UTS can be renewed for the second year if students maintain an average grade of 7/10 and obtain at least 50% of credits by the end of the third quartile.

Benefits of the Scholarship
This scholarship will provide the following to its recipients:
- Scholarship award between €3,000 and €22,000 for Year 1
- Renewable for Year 2 if academic progress requirements are met (average grade 7/10, 50% credits obtained)
- Freedom to use scholarship funds for any study-related expenses (no costs paid on behalf of student)
- Opportunity to apply for additional Kipaji Scholarship (for eligible African students starting September 2026)
The fund awarded can be used by recipients to cover:
- Tuition
- Accommodation
- Books and study materials
- Other benefits

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be a non-EU/EEA national
- Must have been provisionally or fully admitted to a qualifying UT Master’s programme starting September 2026
- Must hold a UT student number at the time of scholarship application
- Must not have previously graduated from a University of Twente undergraduate or graduate programme
- Must rank in the top 5–10% of graduating class at home university (self-assessment required)
- Must meet English language requirement: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with 6.0 minimum in speaking (or TOEFL iBT 90 with 20 minimum in speaking)
- Must comply with Dutch entry visa conditions (if applicable)
- Must not be eligible for a Dutch study loan
- Must not pay the statutory tuition fee (applies to students with Dutch residence permits)
