Thomas Mark Scholarship at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is a prestigious, fully funded award designed for trained paediatricians and paediatric specialists from low- and middle-income countries who are committed to improving child health outcomes in tropical and resource-limited settings. The scholarship is offered to more than one candidate each year and provides comprehensive financial support, including full tuition fees, living and accommodation costs, return flights, and visa-related expenses. Awardees may apply the funding to any eligible on-campus Master’s programme at LSTM, enabling them to gain advanced, practical expertise directly relevant to paediatric healthcare challenges in their home countries.
Founded in 1898 in Liverpool, United Kingdom, LSTM is one of the world’s oldest and most respected institutions dedicated exclusively to tropical medicine and global health. With over 125 years of experience, the school has built a strong international reputation for high-impact research, specialist training, and policy influence in addressing diseases that disproportionately affect low- and middle-income countries. Its long-standing focus on capacity building and evidence-based solutions makes LSTM an ideal academic environment for health professionals seeking to drive meaningful and sustainable improvements in global and tropical paediatric care.
