The Turkish Scholarships Program at Koç University is a collaborative scholarship initiative between the Turkish Government, represented by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, and Koç University, and has been offering fully funded study opportunities to international students since 2019. The programme is designed to attract highly qualified students from around the world and strengthen Turkey’s global academic engagement. Each year, it provides a structured allocation of awards, including 5 undergraduate scholarships, 10 master’s scholarships with thesis, 20 PhD scholarships, and an additional 5–10 research scholarships, spanning a wide range of academic disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be an international student from any country (Turkish citizens not eligible)
- For Undergraduate: Must apply to eligible programs (all except Medicine, Law, Nursing), submit valid SAT and TOEFL scores above minimum requirements
- For Master’s: Must apply to thesis-based Master’s programs (excluding Clinical Psychology, LL.M, Non-Thesis programs), submit valid GRE and TOEFL scores
- For PhD: Must apply to any PhD program, submit valid GRE and TOEFL scores
- For Research: Must be academicians with PhD degree or PhD students at dissertation stage affiliated with universities abroad
- Must meet Turkish Scholarships age limits, minimum GPA requirements, and other eligibility criteria
- Must meet Koç University admission requirements for chosen program

Selection Criteria
The selection process is competitive and primarily based on academic merit, as demonstrated through prior academic performance, relevant qualifications, and consistency of results. Applicants are also evaluated using standardized test scores such as SAT, GRE, and English proficiency examinations including TOEFL, in line with the specific requirements of each academic programme. In addition, candidates must satisfy all programme-specific criteria set by Koç University, which may include academic prerequisites, research interests, or faculty recommendations.
