The Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship is a prestigious funding program established by the Zhejiang Provincial Government to attract outstanding international students to study at higher education institutions throughout Zhejiang Province, including Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU). International students applying to or currently enrolled in bachelors, masters, doctoral, or long-term general scholar programs at ZJNU can apply for this scholarship to help offset tuition costs and living expenses. The scholarship targets friendly, healthy international students with excellent academic records who demonstrate commitment to their studies and adherence to Chinese laws and university regulations. Recipients cannot hold other scholarships simultaneously.
Zhejiang Normal University, founded in 1956 and located in Jinhua City in China’s prosperous Zhejiang Province, is a comprehensive provincial key university known for teacher education and multidisciplinary development. The university offers a wide range of programs across humanities, sciences, engineering, education, economics, management, law, and arts, with particular strength in teacher training programs. Class A Scholarship:
- 30,000 RMB per person per year
- Annual lump sum payment (no monthly stipend)
- Renewable annually based on academic performance

Class B Scholarship:
- 20,000 RMB per person per year
- Annual lump sum payment (no monthly stipend)
- Renewable annually based on academic performance

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
Basic Requirements by Program Level:
- Undergraduate applicants: Must be under 30 years old and hold high school diplomas
- Master’s applicants: Must be under 35 years old, hold bachelor’s degree certificates, and provide 2 recommendation letters from professors or associate professors
- Doctoral applicants: Must be under 40 years old, hold master’s degree certificates, and provide 2 recommendation letters from professors or associate professors
General Requirements:

Selection Criteria
Zhejiang Normal University reviews all scholarship applications and selects recipients based on academic merit, qualifications, and alignment with program requirements. The selection process evaluates applicants’ academic records and transcripts demonstrating strong performance, completeness and quality of application materials including all required documents, language proficiency appropriate for the chosen program (HSK for Chinese-taught programs, IELTS/TOEFL/GRE for English-taught programs), quality of study plans showing clear academic goals and motivation, recommendation letters attesting to academic abilities and character, and health status confirmed through physical examination. Priority is given to students with outstanding academic achievements, clear career objectives, and strong potential to successfully complete their degree programs at ZJNU.
