Nankai University welcomes outstanding international students to its undergraduate programmes through a distinctive “1+3” educational pathway, in which students begin with a comprehensive foundation academic year at the School of International Education before progressing to three years of specialised study in their chosen major. All 41 undergraduate programmes are taught in Chinese, and students must obtain HSK Level 6 with a minimum score of 180 before graduation. A unique feature of the 2026 admissions cycle is the requirement for all applicants to sit the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA), which evaluates academic readiness and core competencies in subjects relevant to the applicant’s intended major.
Nankai University is one of China’s most prestigious and historically celebrated universities, founded in 1919 and listed as a national key university and a member of China’s elite Double First-Class initiative.
