The University of Dundee Alumni and Family Scholarship is a merit-linked tuition discount scholarship available to students whose immediate family member has graduated from or is currently enrolled at the University of Dundee, offering a one-year award valued at £1,500 for Home, rest of UK, and Republic of Ireland applicants, and £3,000 for international applicants. The scholarship is open to full-time, campus-based students pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degrees with programme fees of £8,500 or above for undergraduate and £10,850 or above for postgraduate taught programmes, and is available for students commencing studies in January 2027.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:

  • Must have an immediate family member who has graduated from the University of Dundee or is currently enrolled in a degree programme there; eligible family members include a mother, father, spouse, step-parent (by marriage), brother or sister, or half-brother or half-sister (by marriage)
  • Must be enrolled in a full-time, campus-based programme leading to the award of a bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • Programme fees must be £8,500 or above for undergraduate programmes, or £10,850 or above for postgraduate taught programmes
  • Must be commencing studies in January 2027
  • Must submit the required supporting documentation proving the family relationship: birth certificate (for parent, sibling, or half-sibling relationships), marriage certificate (for spouse), or relevant legal documentation (for step-parent or half-sibling by marriage)
  • Must provide documentation relating to the family member’s study at the University of Dundee, with the family member’s permission
  • Cannot be simultaneously in receipt of the Alumni Scholarship

Selection Criteria

The University of Dundee Alumni and Family Scholarship is awarded based on the verification of an applicant’s family connection to the university, with all applications assessed against the programme’s eligibility requirements, including confirmation of a qualifying immediate family relationship supported by the relevant legal documentation, enrolment in an eligible full-time campus-based degree programme at the appropriate fee level, and commencement of studies in January 2027; incomplete applications or those lacking the required supporting documents will not be assessed for the award, and where eligible, the scholarship may be combined with the Global Excellence or Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship but not with the Alumni Scholarship.
