The Energy Education Trust Undergraduate & Honours Scholarship is a NZ$5,000 annual scholarship established in 2008 and funded by the Energy Education Trust of New Zealand, awarded to support full-time students undertaking Stage III/Part III or Part IV undergraduate, undergraduate Honours, or postgraduate Honours studies in science, economics, engineering, or related fields with a specific focus on the energy needs of New Zealand. A total of 10 scholarships are offered annually across six participating New Zealand universities, with the University of Auckland being one of the participating institutions, and the award is intended to assist recipients with course-related expenses during one year of study.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be enrolled full-time in Stage III/Part III or Part IV of an undergraduate degree, an undergraduate Honours degree, or a postgraduate Honours degree at the University of Auckland
- Programme must be in science, economics, engineering, or a related field with a specific focus on or relevance to the energy needs of New Zealand (refer to official Regulation 3 for the full list of eligible fields)
- Must apply online through the University of Auckland’s scholarship portal by the closing date of April 1, 2026 (midnight); all sections of the application form, including any references or endorsements, must be completed by the deadline
- Must read the official scholarship regulations carefully before applying to confirm full eligibility
- The scholarship is offered annually with a single application round per year

Selection Criteria
