The La Trobe University High Achiever Scholarship is a merit-based award that automatically rewards high-achieving international students with a tuition fee reduction of up to 25% for the full duration of their undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programme, with no separate application required. The scholarship is assessed at the time of reviewing the program application and is applied directly from Semester 1 as an upfront discount, recognising academic excellence and making quality education in Australia more financially accessible for talented students from around the world. Available across La Trobe University’s Victorian campuses, including Melbourne, Bendigo, Albury-Wodonga, Mildura, Shepparton, and the City Campus, the award is limited in number and assessed based on the applicant’s weighted average mark and overall eligibility for their chosen course.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand
- Must be applying to start an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programme at a La Trobe University Victorian campus in 2026
- Must not be currently enrolled at La Trobe University
- Must be a full fee-paying student and not a humanitarian or other permanent visa holder
- Must meet course prerequisites and have a weighted average mark (WAM) equivalent to at least 60% or higher in Australian equivalency
- Must meet the University’s English language requirements and all other conditions stated on the Offer Letter
- Must obtain an offer letter before selection for the scholarship can be confirmed
- Must pass the Genuine Student assessment including financial checks
- Must maintain full-time enrolment and satisfactory academic progress throughout studies
- Must accept the offer and pay the required deposit before the scholarship discount is applied
