The University of Siena, in line with its initiatives aimed at enhancing the international attractiveness of its academic programs, offers the Siena International Excellence Scholarships to honor distinguished international students and encourage their enrollment in selected Master’s degree programs conducted entirely in English. The scholarship is valued at €6,000 annually and is renewable for a second year, bringing the total value to €12,000 over two years. Five scholarships are offered in total, distributed across four academic areas including Economics and Law, Political and International Sciences, Biomedical and Medical Sciences, and Mathematics and Experimental Sciences.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- Must hold a non-Italian Bachelor’s degree that qualifies for admission to Master’s degree programs within the Italian University system
- Must not hold Italian citizenship, except for individuals with dual citizenship that includes Italian
- Must not be a resident of Italy at the time of application
- Must have applied for at least one of the qualifying Master’s degree programs through the apply.unisi.it portal, following the specified procedures and deadlines
- Candidates may apply for up to two qualifying programs
- Both candidates awaiting evaluation and those who have already received confirmation of acceptance to one of the qualifying programs are eligible to apply

Selection Criteria
Applicants are evaluated by an Evaluation Committee that considers the documentation already submitted by the candidate through the admission application portal, together with a short self-made motivation video of no longer than one minute submitted as part of the scholarship application. The scholarship is awarded to the most talented students admitted to the selected English-taught Master’s degree programs, with one scholarship available per area for Economics and Law, Political and International Sciences, and Biomedical and Medical Sciences, and two scholarships available for the area of Mathematics and Experimental Sciences.
