The AfOx Graduate Scholarships come from a partnership between the University of Oxford and the Mastercard Foundation, under the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme and the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx), to support Africans who have had to overcome hardship. In partnership with Saïd Business School, up to three scholarships are available for the 2027-28 MBA programme. They are open to African nationals who are ordinarily resident in African countries and can demonstrate a commitment to Africa’s development. The scholarships cover course fees and a living-costs grant, as well as tailor-made training programmes, networking opportunities, and support for students before, during, and after their time at Oxford.
Saïd Business School is the business school of the University of Oxford. It holds AACSB and EQUIS accreditation and the Athena Swan charter, and it is part of the Global Network for Advanced Management. The School advocates for greater investment in talent from across Africa and currently leads the way in supporting and recruiting students from Africa. Alongside the AfOx scholarships, it offers other scholarships to candidates who are nationals of, or ordinarily resident in, Africa, including the Saïd Business School Foundation Scholarships and the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme.
