The International Citizens of Change Scholarship is offered by the University of Leicester to highlight its commitment to supporting international students who make a positive contribution to the university community and the wider world. The university is offering 10 scholarships for the September 2026 intake, each worth £10,000 per year for up to three years. To be considered, applicants must submit a short video of no more than two minutes answering three questions about their post-university goals, how their chosen degree will help them achieve these goals, and how they will contribute to the university community. Videos may be submitted via Google Drive, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, WeChat Video, or Douyin.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be starting a full-time undergraduate programme at the University of Leicester, UK campus commencing in September 2026 for year one, two or three of the undergraduate programme (excluding Medicine, LLB Maitrise, STEM International Foundation and ‘International Year 1’ courses)
- Must have made Leicester your ‘firm choice’ by Tuesday 30 June 2026 (if applied via UCAS, you will need to reply by your UCAS reply deadline, which may be earlier than this date)
- All conditions of your offer must be met no later than Thursday 20 August 2026
- Must be classed as an international student for fee purposes

Selection Criteria
Applicants are scored based on three main categories: Realism (the feasibility and thoughtfulness of the applicant’s plans for university life and the future), Creativity (the originality of the applicant’s thought process, idea, and approach to the questions), and Impact (the extent to which the applicant’s plans during and after their degree will make a positive difference in the world). The personal statement and any extracurricular activities highlighted in the application form are also taken into consideration. Shortlisting and final selection will take place between 1 July and 14 August 2026, with winners notified by 20 August 2026.
