The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) are fully funded master’s scholarships offered by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) to support students from Commonwealth countries in pursuing a two-year master’s degree at an ACU member university in a low or middle-income Commonwealth country. The scholarships are aimed at students who are committed to creating change in their communities and are designed to provide a life-changing opportunity to experience a new country and culture, broaden horizons, and build a global network that will last a lifetime. There are two annual cycles to apply — Cycle 1 opens in November/December and Cycle 2 opens in March/April. Applicants must submit both a QECS application through the ACU portal and a separate admission application directly to their chosen university. Only courses listed on the ACU website are eligible for scholarship funding.

The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) is one of the oldest and largest international university networks in the world, with over 400 member universities across more than 40 Commonwealth countries. Established in 1913 and headquartered in London, the ACU works to support excellence in higher education and build a better world through academic collaboration and international exchange. The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships are made possible through the generous support of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) endowment fund, and reflect the ACU’s enduring commitment to empowering future leaders from across the Commonwealth to drive sustainable development and positive change in their communities.
