The Barry University Stamps Scholars Program is offered in partnership with the national Stamps Scholars Program and invests in an exclusive group of high-achieving incoming freshmen with an interest in leadership and service. Barry University provides matching dollars alongside the Stamps Scholars Program’s contribution to deliver a full merit scholarship that covers tuition, room and board, books, and transportation over four years. Beyond the full-ride financial support, Stamps Scholars receive an additional $6,000 for study abroad or other extraordinary learning experiences, a dedicated faculty advisor, unique cultural experiences, leadership training and community service activities, prominent leadership opportunities including the Presidential Ambassador Program, and access to a national network of over 4,000 current and alumni Stamps Scholars worldwide. Students must be accepted to Barry University and meet the minimum GPA requirement before applying to the Stamps Scholars Program through their MyBarry account.
Barry University, founded in 1940 by the Adrian Dominican Sisters and located in Miami Shores, Florida, is a Catholic liberal arts university with over 100 degree programmes from bachelor’s through doctoral level. Barry is an NCAA Division II institution with 12 varsity teams and has won 24 NCAA championships to date. The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and offers programmes across seven colleges and schools including arts and sciences, business, health professions and medical sciences, mental health and social work, nursing, podiatric medicine, and law. Barry’s campus in the vibrant Miami Shores community provides students with access to one of the United States’ most dynamic cultural and professional metropolitan areas.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be a first-year incoming freshman — open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and international students
- Must have a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Must have demonstrated and active leadership experience
- Must have been accepted to Barry University before applying to the Stamps Scholars Program
- Must apply through MyBarry account by December 15 at 11:59 PM EST
- Must submit a completed application including a letter of recommendation (from a teacher, counselor, coach, mentor, employer, faith community member, or volunteer supervisor), a resume, and a personal video (maximum 3 minutes highlighting interests, leadership experience, motivation for joining the Barry community, and potential contribution

Selection Criteria
The selection process is three-stage. In the first stage, applications received by December 15 are reviewed by Barry University. In the second stage (early February), semifinalists are invited to participate in a virtual interview with the Barry Stamps Review Committee, comprising Barry faculty and administrators. In the third stage (March), finalists are selected and scheduled for an interview with a representative of the national Stamps Scholars Program. Final scholarship decisions are communicated to finalists by late March. Selection criteria are based on academic excellence (minimum high school GPA of 3.5), demonstrated and active leadership experience, community involvement and service, and the quality of the personal video and letter of recommendation.
