The New UI GREAT (Global Research and Education Assistance for Talent) Scholarship is a prestigious fully funded and partially funded postgraduate scholarship offered by Universitas Indonesia to non-Indonesian citizens seeking to pursue a master’s degree at one of Southeast Asia’s leading universities. The scholarship is designed to attract outstanding international students from around the world across a wide range of disciplines including engineering, economics, law, social sciences, public health, psychology, pharmacy, nursing, environmental science, administrative sciences, and strategic and global studies, with the aim of developing future global leaders and researchers through world-class education and international collaboration.

Benefits of the Scholarship
This scholarship will provide the following to its recipients:
- Full tuition fee waiver for the master’s degree programme valid for up to 4 semesters
- Monthly living allowance of IDR 3,500,000, (including accommodation, book, and research costs), subject to maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Return airfare allowance of up to IDR 10,000,000 (approximately USD 650), with (only once, maximum IDR 5,000,000 for each departure)
- Free student visa application, KITAS, and stay permit processing (covered once)
- One-time settlement cost allowance of IDR 1,500,000
- Health insurance coverage during the study period
- Indonesian language preparation class at UI (cost covered by the scholarship) for applicants who do not meet the Indonesian language requirement

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be a non-Indonesian citizen applying for a master’s degree programme at Universitas Indonesia
- Must not already hold a master’s degree
- Must not be enrolled as a student at any other Indonesian university
- Must satisfy both the UI Degree Admission criteria and the specific requirements for the New UI GREAT Scholarship
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 throughout their studies at UI
- Applicants for English-taught programmes must provide proof of English proficiency: PBT TOEFL minimum 550, IBT TOEFL minimum 80, or IELTS minimum 6.0
- Applicants for programmes taught in Bahasa Indonesia must demonstrate Indonesian language proficiency or submit a Letter of Commitment for Language
- Must submit two recommendation letters, at least one of which must be academic, such as from a professor or academic advisor

Selection Criteria
Applications undergo a competitive academic review and scholarship assessment process conducted by Universitas Indonesia, with selection based on academic merit, strength of submitted documents including transcripts, recommendation letters, and a short essay of 250 to 500 words outlining the applicant’s background, leadership experience, personal or professional influence, networking skills, career planning, and reasons for pursuing graduate studies at UI, with successful candidates officially notified on June 5, 2026, and priority consideration given to applicants who submit a recommendation letter from the Indonesian Embassy.
