Selection Criteria
The Central Scholarship Ranking Committee, with advice from UNSW Schools and Faculties, determines scholarship selection, which is finally approved by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise. Scholarships are awarded competitively based on academic merit and research potential, with priority given to applicants who have not already earned a research degree at the level for which they are applying. By applying for a UNSW HDR scholarship, applicants are automatically considered for all relevant UNSW HDR scholarships subject to eligibility. The number of scholarships available varies by budget and take-up rates each round, and successful applicants receive only one type of scholarship.
