The Lincoln University International Scholarships are a range of merit-based awards offered by Lincoln University to outstanding international students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, and pathway programmes. Scholarships are typically awarded based on academic achievements, though selection may also consider personal qualities, financial need, country of residence, and chosen programme of study. Some scholarships require a separate application, while others are awarded automatically upon admission. Up to 50 scholarships are available annually, ranging in value from NZ$2,500 to NZ$15,000 depending on the programme level and specific award.

Benefits of the Scholarship

This scholarship will provide the following to its recipients:

International Pathway Merit Scholarship: NZ$2,500 credited towards study expenses for new students enrolling in a Pathway Certificate or First Year Pathway Diploma programme
EAP Tuition Fee Rebate: A tuition fee rebate capped at the value of up to 12 weeks of EAP tuition fees for students who successfully complete a minimum of 12 weeks of English for Academic Purposes
International Undergraduate Scholarship: NZ$3,000 credited towards study expenses for new international undergraduate students
Undergraduate Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship: NZ$5,000 credited towards study expenses for new high-achieving international undergraduate students
International School Leavers Scholarship: NZ$10,000 credited towards study expenses for new international students enrolling in an undergraduate bachelor programme
Taught Master Merit Scholarship: Up to NZ$15,000 towards the overall cost of study in a master’s programme

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must meet the following:

Must be an international student (not a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident)
Must meet the academic and English language entry requirements for the chosen programme at Lincoln University
Must not currently hold any other Lincoln University-funded scholarship
International Pathway Merit Scholarship: Must be a new student seeking admission into the Pathway Certificate or First Year Pathway Diploma programmes
International Undergraduate Scholarship: Must be a new-to-programme Lincoln University international student registered or planning to register in an undergraduate programme in the 2026 academic year
Undergraduate Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship: Must not have previously studied in an academic programme at Lincoln University
International School Leavers Scholarship: Must be a new-to-programme international student registering in an undergraduate bachelor programme and a school leaver from a New Zealand or overseas high school
Taught Master Merit Scholarship: Must hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum B+ GPA in the last year of study
