Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) welcomes international students through various scholarship programmes supported by both internal and external institutions. These scholarships aim to support academic excellence, global cooperation, and equal access to quality education. The main inbound scholarship programmes available for international students to study at ITB include the Ganesha Talent-International Fellowship (GT-IF), funded directly by ITB for Master’s and Doctoral students; the KNB Scholarship, funded by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology for Master’s and Doctoral students from eligible developing countries; the Indonesian Aid Scholarship (TIAS), funded by the Indonesian Ministry of Finance for undergraduate and graduate students (primarily government officials or public sector nominees); and the ASEAN-Maybank Scholarship, funded by the Maybank Foundation for undergraduate students from all 10 ASEAN member states.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:

Ganesha Talent-International Fellowship (GT-IF):

  • Must be an international student applying to a Master’s or Doctoral programme at ITB
  • Must demonstrate academic excellence and research potential in disciplines aligned with ITB’s vision

KNB Scholarship:

  • Must be a national of a designated developing country eligible under the KNB programme
  • Must hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree (for Master’s applicants) or Master’s degree (for Doctoral applicants)
  • Must demonstrate a strong academic background and leadership potential

Indonesian Aid Scholarship (TIAS):

  • Open to undergraduate and graduate levels — from associate to Master’s degree
  • Priority given to government officials or individuals recommended to work in the public sector in their home country
  • Must be from an eligible partner country of Indonesia

ASEAN-Maybank Scholarship:

  • Must be a citizen of one of the 10 ASEAN member states
  • Must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a desire to contribute to their community
  • Must be applying to an undergraduate programme at ITB

Selection Criteria

Each scholarship at ITB has its own selection process and criteria. For the GT-IF, selection is conducted by ITB’s Graduate School based on academic excellence, research potential, and alignment with ITB’s strategic disciplines. For the KNB Scholarship, selection involves a review of academic records, leadership potential, and eligibility as a national of a designated developing country, with the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology making the final award decision. For TIAS, candidates are assessed based on their background as current or prospective government officials or public sector professionals, with priority given to those nominated by their home country’s relevant ministries. For the ASEAN-Maybank Scholarship, selection is managed by the Maybank Foundation based on academic merit, leadership, and community service commitment.
