The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) MBA and MDM Scholarships are offered by the Asian Institute of Management to make its flagship programmes available to Asia’s most promising graduates by awarding both full and partial scholarships to exceptionally qualified students. Scholars are selected not only for their potential to enrich discussions in AIM’s case rooms and encourage wider worldviews among the student body, but for their ability to contribute to their own organisations and communities upon graduation. Scholarships are awarded as part of the admissions process some scholarship categories may require additional information to be submitted alongside the standard admissions application. AIM reserves the right not to award scholarships if no suitable, outstanding candidates are identified. The main scholarship programmes available include the AIM Excellence Scholarship (full scholarship), the ADB–Japan Scholarship Program (full scholarship including living expenses), and various other partial scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:

General (all scholarships):

Must demonstrate excellent academic records
Must have strong professional achievements and a clear career trajectory
Must possess excellent written and oral English skills
Must demonstrate exceptional people skills and great leadership potential

AIM Excellence Scholarship (additional):

Must demonstrate excellent performance across all MBA admissions criteria
Must undergo review by the AIM President or Dean
GMAT score of 750 or GRE equivalent is preferred

ADB–Japan Scholarship Program (additional):

Must be a national of an ADB member borrowing country
Must not hold any prior master’s or doctoral degree(s)
Must commit to returning to their home country after completion of the AIM MDM degree
Must submit the ADB-JSP Information Sheet Form, Certificate of Annual Income, a Notarised Affidavit of Family Income, and official Transcript of Records with GPA

Selection Criteria

Scholarships are awarded as part of the AIM admissions process. The AIM Excellence Scholarship is awarded to the most outstanding applicants as assessed across all admissions criteria, with a final review conducted by the AIM President or Dean. For the ADB–Japan Scholarship Program, AIM first screens applications based on its own selection criteria with reference to ADB eligibility requirements, then submits nominations to ADB, which conducts its own independent review and recommends awardees to the Executive Director for formal approval. For all other partial scholarships, selection is based on a holistic review of the applicant’s academic record, professional achievements, leadership potential, and the additional requirements specific to each scholarship category. AIM reserves the right not to award any scholarship if no outstanding candidates are identified.
