The LATAM Graduate Achievement Scholarship was established by Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) Vancouver Campus to recognize strong academic performance and encourage talented students from Latin America to pursue graduate education in Canada. Beginning with the Summer 2026 intake, the scholarship provides eligible students with a USD $2,000 tuition reduction, helping to lower the overall cost of pursuing a master’s degree. There is no fixed limit on the number of scholarships available, as awards are offered subject to the availability of funding. Eligible applicants who enroll in qualifying master’s programmes are automatically considered for the scholarship, meaning students do not need to submit a separate scholarship application.

A tuition reduction of USD $2,000 per student for one academic year
USD $1,000 disbursed after registration for Term 1
USD $1,000 disbursed after successful completion of Term 1, contingent on maintaining academic standing

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:

Must hold citizenship of a Latin American country (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, or Venezuela; Caribbean countries are excluded) and provide a valid passport as proof of citizenship
Must meet all formal admission requirements for an eligible FDU Vancouver master’s program
Students approved for domestic tuition rates are not eligible for this scholarship
Must present a minimum cumulative GPA equivalent to 3.5/4.0 (U.S. scale) in any previously completed degree
Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0 during Term 1 to remain eligible for the second disbursement
Must demonstrate strong potential for academic success and positive contribution to the FDU community
Must maintain full-time enrollment throughout Term 1 (typically 9 credits/term); part-time status is ineligible
Scholarship eligibility applies only to courses taken for academic credit; non-credit coursework (including EPS) is excluded

Selection Criteria

FDU Vancouver Admissions assesses eligibility based on academic transcripts and credentials at the time of the offer, and determines the final selection of scholarship recipients based on a predetermined budget and established selection criteria. Eligibility for the second disbursement is separately reviewed by the FDUV Enrollment Services department, also based on a predetermined budget and established selection criteria.
