The School of Computer Science Scholarship: Mixed Precision is a fully funded PhD studentship offered by the University of Leeds for 2026/27 entry, linked to the project “Mixed precision methods for numerical linear algebra at exascale,” supervised by Dr Massimiliano Fasi. One funded place is available, providing full academic fees together with a tax-free maintenance grant at the standard UKRI rate. All candidates are placed into the School of Computer Science Studentship Competition, with selection based on academic merit; securing an academic offer for the linked project does not guarantee an offer of funding, as these are two separate processes.

The University of Leeds is a research-intensive UK university, with 99% of its research rated world-leading in the REF 2021 assessment. Its School of Computer Science, part of the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, offers a professional research environment with UK-leading facilities. The University is supported by the Leeds Doctoral College, which connects its research community and provides guidance, services, and opportunities throughout the PhD journey, alongside close industry links, professional skills development, and wellbeing support, and welcomes students, researchers, and academics from more than 140 countries.
