The International Undergraduate Tuition Fee Waiver is offered by the University of Leicester to support outstanding international undergraduate students. The university is offering 150 tuition fee waivers over the next five years, beginning with 30 fee waivers available for applicants starting in September 2026. To be considered, applicants must submit a short video of no more than two minutes answering three questions about their post-university goals, how their chosen degree will help them achieve these goals, and how they will contribute to the university community. Videos may be submitted via Google Drive, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, WeChat Video, or Douyin. Alongside the video, the university will also take into consideration the applicant’s personal statement and any extracurricular activities highlighted in the application form.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be starting a full-time undergraduate programme at the University of Leicester, UK campus commencing in September 2026 for year one, two or three of the undergraduate programme, for a maximum of three years (excluding Medicine, LLB Maitrise, STEM International Foundation, ‘International Year 1’ courses, and programmes that exceed three years in duration)
- Must have made Leicester your ‘firm choice’ by 30 June 2026 (if applied through UCAS, you will need to reply by your UCAS reply deadline, which may be earlier than this date)
- Must achieve the equivalent to two grades above the standard A-level entry requirement (for example, if the standard entry requirement is ABB, the fee waiver will be awarded to applicants who achieve the equivalent of AAA or higher)
- All conditions of your offer must be met by 20 August 2026
- Must be classed as an international student for fee purposes

Selection Criteria
Applicants are scored based on three main categories: Realism (the feasibility and thoughtfulness of the applicant’s plans for university life and the future), Creativity (the originality of the applicant’s thought process, idea, and approach to the questions), and Impact (the extent to which the applicant’s plans during and after their degree will make a positive difference in the world). The personal statement and any extracurricular activities highlighted in the application form are also taken into consideration. Shortlisting and final selection will take place between 1 July 2026 and 20 August 2026, with winners notified by 20 August 2026 and unsuccessful applicants notified by 28 August 2026.
