The MCC Scholarship at Modul University Vienna is a prestigious, merit-based award funded by the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) Foundation the majority owner of Modul University and is designed for ambitious new students with an outstanding academic track record and a commitment to going above and beyond. The scholarship is intended to support top-performing, highly motivated students who require some degree of financial support to realise their full potential. Candidates are first admitted to Modul University through the regular application and admission process, after which top candidates are proposed for consideration for the MCC Scholarship. Shortlisted candidates are invited to submit a formal application package and a short video of no more than three minutes, followed by a scholarship interview with the Selection Board.
Modul University Vienna (MU) is a private, internationally accredited university located on the Kahlenberg hill overlooking Vienna, Austria. Founded in 2007 under the auspices of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, MU offers a range of undergraduate, master’s, MBA, and PhD programs with a focus on business, management, tourism, sustainability, and data science. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- Must apply for an eligible study program at Modul University Vienna
- Must hold citizenship of one of the following eligible countries: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, or Uzbekistan
- Must demonstrate financial need in addition to meeting the academic and personal qualities specified in the scholarship call; financial need is assessed based on self-disclosure and due diligence done as part of the application process
- Must indicate the intention to apply for the MCC Scholarship in the “Additional Information” section of the MU application under “Additional Request”

Selection Criteria
Scholarships are awarded based on a holistic assessment by a Selection Board consisting of MCC and Modul University delegated members. Ideal candidates demonstrate a strong work ethic, integrity, maturity, a strong sense of responsibility, and good communication and interpersonal skills. Assessment criteria include academic performance, social engagement evidenced by at least two social, cultural, or volunteering activities, and extracurricular activities such as participation in competitions or accelerators. Applicants with a strong academic and extracurricular track record but with limited capacity to finance their studies are given preference, ensuring accessibility for students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
