The Chulabhorn Graduate Institute (CGI) Post-graduate Scholarship offers international applicants the opportunity to pursue a fully funded Master’s degree at CGI, which currently runs programmes in Applied Biological Sciences: Environmental Health, Environmental Toxicology, and Chemical Sciences. The award is designed for applicants under 30 years of age holding a Bachelor’s degree (minimum GPA of 2.75) in a relevant field such as Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Environmental Sciences, Medicine, Medical Technology, or Pharmacy, with some laboratory research experience and demonstrated English proficiency. Successful applicants begin with a six-week refresher course, tentatively starting in June 2027, before moving into the two-year academic programme commencing in August 2027, subject to an annual review of satisfactory progress.
The Chulabhorn Graduate Institute (CGI) is a multidisciplinary post-graduate academic institute in Bangkok, established in 2005 under the initiative of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana. CGI’s stated aim is to employ the most recent interactive teaching techniques used in leading educational and research institutions worldwide, in order to produce effective thinkers and leaders capable of serving their countries’ needs towards sustainable development. The Institute focuses its postgraduate offerings squarely on chemical sciences, biological sciences, and environmental toxicology, reflecting its founding emphasis on science and technology as drivers of long-term national development, and it draws applicants broadly from Colombo Plan member countries as well as other nations worldwide.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be under 30 years of age (no exemption)
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 in one of the following fields: Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Environmental Sciences), Medical Sciences (Medicine, Medical Technology), or Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Sciences (applicants from other related fields are also welcome to apply)
- Must have experience in scientific laboratory research
- Must have demonstrated English proficiency, preferably through one of two recognized tests of language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS), a letter from their university indicating English is the medium of instruction, or other specified evidence
- Must provide a statement of purpose explaining their interest in the study

Selection Criteria
Applications are considered only when the application form and all required supporting documents — a full academic transcript (undergraduate or higher level only), three recommendation letters, a statement of purpose, a medical history report, and any other supporting documents to facilitate screening — are submitted through the official application weblink for the applicant’s country category. The scholarship is subject to an annual review of the scholar’s satisfactory progress, and CGI reserves the right to terminate the scholarship if the student’s performance does not meet the set criteria or if the awardee does not adhere to all rules of CGI.
