Budapest Metropolitan University (METU) is committed to supporting talented students and making a path for future careers through a comprehensive suite of scholarships and grants. METU currently offers five distinct scholarship categories: the METU Academic Scholarship, the Public Life Scholarship, the Scientific and Professional Scholarship, the Sport Scholarship, and the National Higher Education Scholarship. The METU Academic Scholarship is awarded automatically results are calculated by the university at the beginning of each semester and awarded students receive a personal message with details. The remaining scholarships require an individual application each semester, with results based on the previous active semester’s performance. All scholarships are available to full-time fee-paying Bachelor’s and Master’s students with active student status.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:
METU Academic Scholarship:
- Must have active student status in the relevant semester
- Must be enrolled full-time in a fee-paying Bachelor’s or Master’s programme
- The number of semesters must not exceed the recommended number of semesters in the given programme
Public Life Scholarship:
- Must have active student status
- Must be enrolled in a full-time training programme
- Must have at least a 3.5 weighted grade point average during the last active semester
- Must submit at least a 1,500-character text document describing activities and achievements during the referenced period
Scientific and Professional Scholarship:
- Must have active student status
- Must be enrolled in a full-time training programme
- Must have at least a 4.0 weighted grade point average during the last active semester
- Must provide official confirmation of achieved results (documents must be attached to the request)
Sport Scholarship:
- Must have active student status
- Must be enrolled in a full-time training programme
- Must have at least a 2.5 weighted grade point average during the last active semester
- Must provide official confirmation of achieved sports results (stamped and signed documents required)
National Higher Education Scholarship:
- Must be enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s programme
- Must have signed in for at least two semesters (current or previous studies)
- Must have earned at least 55 credit points
- Starting from the third semester: must have achieved an adjusted credit index exceeding 4.5 in the previous two semesters, and must demonstrate outstanding scientific or other professional work with supporting documents
- Available only when offered by the Rector of the University for the given semester

Selection Criteria
For the METU Academic Scholarship, results are automatically calculated by the university at the beginning of each semester the three students with the highest adjusted credit index from each class of each faculty are awarded. In cases of equal adjusted credit index, the higher credit-weighted average for the entire study period is used as the tiebreaker. For the Public Life Scholarship, the Scientific and Professional Scholarship, and the Sport Scholarship, candidates submit individual applications and are assessed by the university on their performance in the previous active semester. For the Sport Scholarship, applicants are ranked by sports results and the top seven are awarded.
