The KAIST International Undergraduate Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship offered by the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) to outstanding international undergraduate students. KAIST offers a simple yet generous scholarship programme specifically designed for international students the KAIST Scholarship covers full tuition fees, a monthly stipend, and national health insurance, benefiting 94% of its international student body. No separate scholarship application is required all eligible international applicants are automatically considered for the scholarship when they apply for admission. Students select the KAIST Scholarship option as their financial resource during the online application process.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:
- Must hold foreign citizenship — applicants with Korean citizenship (including dual citizenship) are NOT eligible to apply as international students
- Must have graduated or be on track to graduate from high school by August 31 of the year of intended enrolment
- Must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, particularly in science, mathematics, and technical subjects
- Must meet KAIST’s English language proficiency requirements — TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent may be required depending on the programme
- Must maintain a GPA of over 2.7 out of 4.3 at KAIST after the freshman year to retain the scholarship
- Must pay the application fee of USD 80 (or KRW 80,000) at the time of application submission

Selection Criteria
KAIST’s international undergraduate admissions process is highly competitive and holistic. All eligible international applicants are automatically considered for the KAIST Scholarship during the admissions process — no separate scholarship application is required. Candidates are assessed on the strength of their academic record (particularly in science, mathematics, and technical subjects), English language proficiency, personal statements or essays, letters of recommendation, and any standardised test scores submitted. Admissions are conducted through two tracks Early Admissions and Regular Admissions with the early track typically closing in October and the Regular track closing in January of the application year.
