The Yale Peace Fellowship is a prestigious, fully funded international leadership fellowship hosted by the International Leadership Center (ILC) at Yale University’s Jackson School of Global Affairs. The programme brings together an exceptional, geographically diverse group of practitioners dedicated to conflict prevention, peacebuilding, post-conflict reconciliation, and related fields from across civil society, diplomacy, politics, religion, and social business. The 2027 fellowship programme includes biweekly virtual sessions from March to June 2027, an opening in-person convening on Yale University’s campus in New Haven (April 12–16, 2027), and a closing convening at Rose Castle in the United Kingdom (June 14–18, 2027). The programme is designed to strengthen professional leadership capacity, facilitate cross-cultural exchange, expand international networks, and equip fellows with advanced skills in negotiation and conflict transformation.
The International Leadership Center (ILC) at Yale University’s Jackson School of Global Affairs is dedicated to developing the next generation of global leaders through experiential, dialogue-centred programmes that bridge diverse professional and cultural contexts. Yale University, founded in 1701 and located in New Haven, Connecticut, is one of the world’s most prestigious universities and a member of the Ivy League. The Jackson School of Global Affairs, established in 2022, focuses on preparing students and practitioners for careers in international affairs, diplomacy, and global leadership through rigorous academic and experiential programming.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be accomplished in the field of peace and reconciliation, with a track record of strong leadership and a drive to grow professionally
- Must demonstrate commitment to cross-cultural understanding
- Must be a citizen of a country other than the United States — while applicants who hold dual citizenship with the United States are eligible, strong preference is given to candidates whose work is focused outside the United States
- Must be fluent in English
- Must be available to fully participate in all parts of the programme, including both in-person convenings — the opening convening at Yale University (April 12–16, 2027) and the closing convening at Rose Castle, UK (June 14–18, 2027)
- Must pay the non-refundable electronic application fee of $20 at the time of submission

Selection Criteria
Admission to the Yale Peace Fellowship is highly competitive. Each cohort is carefully curated to reflect geographic balance and a wide range of professions, talents, experiences, cultures, and perspectives. Candidates are assessed on demonstrated accomplishments in peace and reconciliation, strength of leadership track record and professional trajectory, commitment to cross-cultural understanding, English language fluency, and the quality of the essay and video submission — which serve as the primary opportunity for applicants to demonstrate their unique contribution to the programme. Only one letter of recommendation is accepted per applicant, ensuring a consistent and equitable review process. No personalised feedback on eligibility or competitiveness is provided due to the volume of inquiries.
